Called “one of the most sought after figures” and a “marketing baron” in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Kansas City’s “biggest winner” David Woodruff has been at the forefront of American political campaigns – winning back the first seats for Missouri Democrats in generations, fighting knee-deep in the Iowa Caucuses and on races from California to Ohio, working with The Daily Show, electing the first LGBT officials in both St. Louis and Kansas City, and as an on-air topic of a Rush Limbaugh assault – Woodruff has notable knowledge, talent, and experience.
First gaining national attention leading Iraq War Veteran Paul Hackett’s campaign for Congress to a nearly spectacular upset in the ruby-red 2nd District of Ohio, the campaign was identified by Roll Call as “a feat of historic proportion,” and is an early case study of the internet’s influence on politics.
Woodruff’s work spans all levels across the nation. First serving on Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan’s staff, Woodruff has played a role on multiple presidential campaigns (including two cycles through the Iowa Caucus trenches); governor, statewide and congressional races; as well as state legislative, judicial, ballot initiatives, municipal elections as well as fundraising and marketing for non-profits and small businesses.
David and his wife Lea, an architect, live in Iowa together with their two Australian shepherds and five chickens (named after Lea’s aunts).
